On April 15, 2024, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Thua Thien Hue Province organized a meeting and exchange program with Laos students studying in Thua Thien Hue province on the occasion of the Lao New Year, Bunpimay 2567.

In attendance were representatives of the leadership of various friendship organizations, the Nguyen Chi Thanh Political School, the Provincial Volunteer Youth Union of Vietnam-Laos, Laos students studying in Thua Thien Hue, and all members of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Son, Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, delivered the opening speech. He extended New Year greetings to all Laos students studying in Thua Thien Hue, emphasizing that they are the younger generation of the two countries’ people, striving to study and train to be worthy of the sacrifices made by those who fought to defend the homeland. He highlighted the special friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos and reminisced about shared memories of celebrating Bunpimay with the Laos people during years of fighting against common enemies.

Ms. Vilaval Thoong Xip, Head of the Laos Student Representative in Hue, expressed gratitude on behalf of all Laos students to the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association for organizing the meeting, providing an opportunity for Laos youth to interact with and learn from Vietnamese volunteers, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges faced during years of supporting the Laos people. She also helped the attending delegates better comprehend the significance of the traditional Bunpimay New Year.

At the conclusion of the exchange, representatives from the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association and various friendship organizations presented lucky money to all Laos students and wished them a successful academic year and a fortunate life ahead.
