On March 25, 2026, the Hue Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO Hue) awarded 30 scholarships, with a total value of VND 30 million, funded by Sunflower Mission (a U.S.-based NGO), to disadvantaged students at Quang Loi Primary School, Dan Dien Commune, Hue City.
Sunflower Mission presents scholarships at Quang Loi Primary School
The scholarships were directly handed to the students by the sponsor, in the presence of the school’s Board of Management. Each scholarship is valued at VND 1,300,000. Selected students will continue to receive support through the end of their primary education only if they maintain at least a “Good” academic performance. At higher levels of education (lower secondary, upper secondary, and university), students may proactively apply for scholarships directly with Sunflower Mission through its various support programs.
All recipients come from disadvantaged backgrounds, making these scholarships especially meaningful. Mr. Nguyen Huu Thuan, Principal of Quang Loi Primary School in Dan Dien Commune, expressed his gratitude to the organization and shared:
“Over the years, the support from Sunflower Mission has made a practical contribution to helping disadvantaged students pursue their dreams of going to school. These scholarships are not only valuable gifts that encourage students to strive harder in their studies, but also instill in them faith in people, belief in a brighter future, and nurture compassion and a sense of care for others.”
Sunflower Mission has been a partner of VUFO Hue since 2012. In 2012 and 2013, it funded the construction of four classrooms at Quang Loi Primary School No. 2 (Dan Dien Commune) and two classrooms at Phong Thu Primary School (Phong Thu Ward). Since then, through VUFO Hue, Sunflower Mission has awarded hundreds of scholarships worth hundreds of millions of VND to underprivileged students with good academic performance at these schools.
