SUNFLOWER MISSION AWARDED 62 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED STUDIOUS STUDENTS IN HUE CITY

As part of the annual scholarship program supporting education in Vietnam, on April 11th, 2025, Sunflower Mission (USA), in cooperation with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City, held a scholarship award ceremony for outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds in three localities across the city. The total value of the scholarships awarded on this occasion amounted to 83,600,000 VND.
The scholarship award ceremony was held in a respectful and heartfelt atmosphere, with the participation of representatives from Sunflower Mission, leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City, local authorities, teachers, parents, and the scholarship recipients.
The scholarships awarded on this occasion aimed to acknowledge and encourage the resilient spirit and academic efforts of students from underprivileged areas. Specifically:

In Phong Thu Ward, Phong Dien District, 9 students were awarded scholarships, including 4 for lower secondary students and 5 for upper secondary students.

In Quang Loi Commune, one of the localities with many academically outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds, the organization awarded a total of 48 scholarships, including 29 for primary students, 13 for lower secondary students, and 6 for upper secondary students.

In Long Ho Ward, 5 lower secondary students who exemplify resilience and academic excellence were also awarded scholarships on this occasion.
The value of each scholarship corresponds to the student’s level of education and is intended to support essential learning expenses, such as tuition fees, textbooks, uniforms, and other basic school supplies. These scholarships serve as a significant source of encouragement, offering students motivation and confidence as they continue their journey in pursuit of knowledge.
At the ceremony, representatives from Sunflower Mission and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City held discussions with local authorities to agree on a coordination mechanism to follow up on the academic performance of scholarship recipients. Close monitoring and continuous support are expected to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the program.
Notably, Sunflower Mission has committed to continuing its support for students in the coming academic years, particularly those who maintain strong academic performance. Students from especially disadvantaged backgrounds who achieve outstanding academic results will also have the opportunity to be considered for individual scholarships when entering university, provided they meet the required criteria.
The scholarship award ceremony on April 11th, 2025 not only demonstrated the spirit of sharing and social responsibility of the Sunflower Mission but also affirmed the strong connection and close coordination between international organizations and local authorities in taking care of the future generation. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City sincerely thanks the Sunflower Mission for its valuable contributions to hardworking students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the area. We hope to continue receiving your companionship and joint efforts in the time to come for a fair, progressive, and compassionate education.
