3 Students in Hue officially enter Mechai Bamboo School, Thailand with Full Scholarship s

On September 5th, 2018, 3 students of Thua Thien Hue province along with the students coming from the ASEAN countries officially enter Mechai Bamboo school, Thailand according to the scholarships. The scholarships is the commitment of Mechai Bamboo School upon the mobilization of Vietnam – Thailand Friendship Association and Thua Thien Hue Union of Friendship Organizations.

Strengthen cooperative relations between Vietnam and Thailand

In March 2018, the delegation of  Vietnam-Thailand friendship Association including the leader of Thua Thien Hue Union of friendship organizations attended 10 years anniversary of the inauguration of One Pillar Pagoda in Khon Kaen at the invitation of the Vietnamese Thai people Association of Khon Kaen Province. In this trip, the delegation and Thailand-Vietnam  Friendship Association visited Mechai Bamboo school in Buriram in the northeast of Thailand. The school presented the plan enrolling students from other countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam. 2 secondary students from each country will be awarded full scholarships at Mechai Bamboo school. Mr.Prachuab Chaiyasan, Chairman of Thailand-Vietnam friendship Association, Chairman of the Board and Principal of the school are looking forward to welcome Viet Nam‘s students to school for studying.

After the commitment of the school, Vietnam- Thailand Friendship Association has assigned Thua Thien Hue Union of Friendship Organization and  the provincial Vietnam- Thailand Friendship Association to recommend suitable candidates to the school.  In July 2018,  Thua Thien Hue Union of friendship organizations held an interview for representatives of Mechai Bamboo School, Buriam Province, Thailand with the aim of finding the candidates in Hue city for full scholarships.

Based on the requirement of the school and interview result, Mr. Surapon Petcha-vra, co-chairman of Mechai Bamboo agreed to award scholarships to all three students who attended the interview, extra 1 more scholarship compared to the original plan. Besides, Mr. Sarupon has also expressed the wish to cooperate with Thua Thien Hue Union of Friendship Organization to expand this new educational model. 

Mechai Bamboo School

Mechai Pattana School also known as Bamboo School because it has the worlds’ largest bamboo dome. The school currently has more than 150 boarding students coming from 31 provinces of Thailand. Mechai Bamboo School is proud of its advanced educational approach and unique learning environment with the mission “creating a generation of honest leaders who will improve rural Thailand” by “promoting the following values: environmental protection, education, poverty eradication, philanthropy, integrity, democracy and gender inequality”. The students in this school not only manage their own businesses but also participate in operating the school such as choosing eligible student, involving in the schools purchasing and auditing committee.

With this wonderful opportunity, we hope that these students will be able to develop themselves to the fullest capability and become successful persons in the future. They are also “the green sprouts” of friendship relations between Vietnam and Thailand in building a peace and prosperity ASEAN Community./.
