On 25 January 2025, the Hue Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO HUE) welcomed a delegation of readers from TAZ Newspaper (Germany) for a visit and working session in Hue City.

During the meeting, VUFO Hue representative presented an overview of Hue City, the organisation’s roles and responsibilities, and shared information on cooperation activities with German partners in implementing local development projects. These projects are funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Solidarity International (SODI).
As part of the programme, the delegation participated in field visits to several representative projects jointly implemented by VUFO HUE and German partners, including:
- “Building sustainable communities and climate change adaptation in the Tam Giang Lagoon area” in Dan Dien Commune
- “Climate change adaptation and sustainable income generation” in Phong Chuong Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province (now Phong Dien Town, Hue City)

At the project sites, the delegation met directly with beneficiary groups and individuals, learning about project implementation processes, practical outcomes, and social impacts. The visits provided first-hand insight into community-based approaches to climate change adaptation, sustainable livelihoods, and the empowerment of women and ethnic minority communities.

The visit contributed to strengthening mutual understanding, people-to-people exchanges, and friendship between Hue City and German partners, while further promoting cooperation in sustainable development initiatives in the time ahead.
