On August 5-6, 2025, Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City was honored to participate in STEM DAY organized by VietHope in collaboration with Kidspire, under the meaningful theme \u201cMe in the multipolar world\u201d. The event was held at Quoc Hoc High school, bringing vibrant energy and colorful atmosphere with the enthusiastic participation of students from Quoc Hoc High school, Nguyen Chi Thanh High school and Phan Dang Luu High school.
\nThe day began with an interactive game named \u201cFlippity\u201d which is designed to help students engage with social knowledge, as well as develop team-work skills, critical thinking and problem solving.
\nA highlight of the day is the unique experiential activities named \u201cThree stations\u201d. The first stations – \u201cI am smart\u201d, students had the opportunity to explore and identify their strengths by learning 8 types of intelligence through in-depth self-discovery quizzes. The second station – \u201cI understand myself\u201d, provides the career orientation area based on 6 traits, helping students visualize the path suiting their strengths and interests, laying a solid foundation for sustainable development. The final station – \u201cKaleidoscopic World\u201d presented a dynamic view of the world, where students can freely imagine themselves as citizens of a new different country and explore cultural diversity across different nations.
\nIn the afternoon of the same day, at Quoc Hoc High school, students from three High schools continued to participate in a series of exciting and creative activities. These activities were organized in the form of group work, centered around three main projects: \u201cHue & Sustainable development,\u201d \u201cFinding identity,\u201d and \u201cAppventor & the World of Careers.\u201d
\nIn the project \u201cHue & Sustainable development,\u201d students were divided into four smaller groups, each responsible for a specific topic related to local environmental issues and sustainable development. They actively engaged in discussions to analyze causes, propose solutions, and, notably, had the opportunity to explore technology through the use of the Makey Makey.
\nThe \u201cFinding identity\u201d project offered a deeply introspective space for self-discovery. Centered around the guiding question \u201cWho am I?\u201d, students worked in pairs to share their personal traits, uncover similarities and differences between one another. These stories and reflections were vividly presented by each group, clearly demonstrating students\u2019 critical thinking, self-awareness, and creativity.
\nMeanwhile, the \u201cAppventor & the World of Careers\u201d project captivated students with a passion for technology. Working together, they designed mobile applications around the theme of \u201ccareer paths.\u201d Guided by instructors, the students learned to use Scratch software to build simple yet meaningful mobile app prototypes.
\nAs the program came to a close, all students from the three projects gathered for a final presentation session in front of teachers and peers. Here, they confidently shared their project journeys, showcased their products, and responded thoughtfully to audience questions. This presentation was not only a chance to demonstrate their learning outcomes but also a valuable opportunity to practice public speaking, persuasion, and stage presence.
\nAt the conclusion of the STEM Day, students were able to engage with valuable knowledge in science, technology, and engineering, while also developing essential soft skills for both academic and everyday life. Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Hue City would like to extend their sincere thanks to VietHope and Kidspire for delivering such a meaningful program, creating conditions for students who receive the MDP VietHope scholarship in Hue with stronger preparation for their future.<\/p>\n
