On 19th<\/sup> July, the Association of Liaison for overseas Vietnamese in Thua Thien Hue province organized the 4th<\/sup> Congress of Delegates term 2024-2029 with the participation of 90 delegates.<\/p>\n

During the past term, the general situation in the world has had many complex and unpredictable changes, along with natural disasters and epidemics (especially the COVID-19 pandamic) have impacted all aspects of social life and people’s foreign affairs activities. Continuing to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party and State’s guidelines and policies in people’s foreign affairs and the Party’s foreign policy, the Association has strengthened and expanded its network and diversified its methods of operation to get access to partners; consolidate and promote relationship with overseas Vietnamese communities. The Association has also mobilized many individuals and non-governmental organizations who are overseas Vietnamese to sponsor many local supportive programs in community in the fields of education, health, and social security with the total cost of more than 20 billion VND.<\/p>\n

In the 2024-2029 term, the Association continues to implement the guidelines, policies of the Party in general and of Thua Thien Hue province in particular, especially the Conclusion no. 12-KL\/TW on overseas Vietnamese work in the new situation, in order to create progressive changes in both the organization and practical activities of the Association, contributing to bring this work truly into order, tightly coordiate throughout the province to continue developing the position and the capacity of Overseas Vietnamese, especially intellectual teams, experts, businessmen, etc.\u00a0 contributing to the overall development of the province. At the Congress, representatives of Association\u2019s members gave discussions to enrich the Association’s activities.<\/p>\n

Mrs Nguyen Thi Ai Van \u2013 Provincial commissioner \u2013 Vice Chairman of provincial People\u2019s Council made a speech at the Congress<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking at the Congress, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ai Van \u2013 Provincial commissioner \u2013 Vice Chairman of provincial People\u2019s Council emphasized that \u201cthe work of overseas Vietnamese always receives the attention of the Party and the State, grasp thoroughly with the sense of \u201c overseas Vietnamese is an integral part, a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic communities, and an important factor contributing to strengthening cooperative and friendly relations between our country and others”. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ai Van has also informed delegates at the Congress about the positive changes in the socio-economic situation in recent times.<\/p>\n

Mr. Huynh Tien Dat, Chairman of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations of Thua Thien Hue province also said \u201cthe Association of Liaison for overseas Vietnamese in Thua Thien Hue province has been carrying out a noble mission which is being a solid bridge, connecting people who are far away from their homeland and country\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Congress negotiated to elect the Executive Committee of the 4th<\/sup> Association of Liaison for overseas Vietnamese in Thua Thien Hue province, term 2024-2029, including 14 commissioners and the Inspection Committee including 03 commissioners. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kinh was elected to be the Chairman of the Association.<\/p>\n
